Today it is the rare workplace that is not diverse, either in employees, customers, or suppliers, and often all three. Everyone benefits from the diverse points of view, knowledge, and experience that people from different communities can bring to an organization. In fact, studies show that organizations with diversity in their leadership and workforce are more profitable.

In this course, you will learn about the value of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. This course focuses on appreciating cultural protocols as they relate to the workplace, understanding organizational power differences, improving workplace relationships, mitigating resistance to change, and promoting equity and inclusion in today’s multicultural organizations. At the end of this course you should be able to:  

+ Recognize the scope of diversity in today’s organizations and why it matters.

+ Gain foundational knowledge of equity and diversity practices in the workplace.

+ Be mindful of cultural protocols in the workplace.

+ Understand how perceptions can be filtered through unconscious bias.

+ Know how to improve workplace relationships.
